Having a celebratory bottle of wine with the Mrs. It is fantastic. It is always nice when you have been cellaring a bottle for years and you open it up to find it was worth the wait.

For you fans of vintage cabs: 97 Monte Bello

It is wonderful, unles.... We opened a bottle of first growth Bordeaux about a year ago. We saved this wine for 22 years and it turned to sour and vinegar. Sad to see an old wine go bad...especially a very $$$$ one.
Glad you and the Mrs. had a good time.

that sucks Jean. That has happened more than once to us. It is the unfortunate risk of collecting and holding.

hopefully that wasnt one of the ones that you got for your kids.

Apparently 1999 isn't the best vintage, but it's affordable and tastes fantastic on a cold rainy night like this.
