Yellow Lycaste

Do you live in the northern or southern hemisphere?

 

This is not the normal time for the plant to be going dormant. Had it put up new growth this spring? How long have you had the plant?

 

All of the yellow flowered Lycaste species that come to mind, drop their leaves in the fall and send up new growth in the spring. You didn't say if it was a species or hybrid. Do you know the name? I don't really know what is going on so can't say what you might do. Does it have needle sharp points on the pseudobulbs where the leaves were attached?

 

Lycastes that have the sharp points generally get a dry winter rest. I would water it less while it doesn't have leaves since it won't be using much water without leaves and you don't want it to stay too wet and rot the roots. Once late fall or winter comes, you could treat it the same as you have in other winters.
