Chris, you need to just bite the bullet and go to a specialty shop if you want to get her something that will impress her.

Thanks Forrest. I'm not sure what I would even be looking for yet. And this is more so I can develop a taste for it and enjoy it with her in the future.

    I bought this last night:

And am drinking it with a spinach and mushroom omelette dinner. I really like it.

The problem is that there are so many choices that anything one of us suggest may or may not be available in your area. Your best bet is to go to a decent wine/liquor store and talk to someone there. Let them know what you're looking for and in what price range.

Half the fun of wine is trying different things and fnding new gems Enjoy!

As far as wine clubs - there's good and bad ones out there. We belong to the California Wine Club (www.cawineclub.com) and have been happy with their selections. I've heard of other good ones but I don't have the URLs here - they are at work.

They hunt for great wines for you. Some are bad but this one is great....never returned a bottle. Just try it and see!

It's really hard to find a decent bar anymore. I just want a nice quiet clean place, 1 tv, a jukebox and no children allowed.
