Two weekends ago I got a call from a friend so that I could go orchid hunting with him in Ponce (That is on the other side of the island). So we went in search of orchids at 6am up the hills in the center of the island.

We stopped for gas in Adjuntas and this is the plaza. (Changed the batteries on the camera and forgot to reset the date)

We finally arrived at Ponce around 8am.

This is what we had to climb the top to find and see the orchids (psychilis and vanilla mainly) in desert like conditions. I thought it looked easy until I was actually climbing.LOL

On our way back home we took a different route and decided to stop at Joyuda Beach to eat.

Neyra, my trip to PR left me with the impression that the biggest jerks in PR lived in Ponce, and I didn't even meet Jose. Nice photos.

Way cool. Beaches, waterfalls, hiking, misty mountains, and is that a whole fish on the plate?

Looks like everything I like about PR, too. I thought Ponce is a lovely city. PR is nothing but gorgous scenery no mater where you are on the island.
    :)

I'm going to have to go to PR soon.

Is Heineken the best beer on the island?

Gawd, Ed, I sure hope not. That might make me change my mind about going there. :D

You need to realize that everything is imported to PR, even Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Or just stay in the good ole US of A and brew our own. I don't think I would like the constant hot weather in PR. I like the change of seasons. Plus I don't speak Puerto Rican. :D

You don't need to speak Puerto Rican, most of the people there grew up in the Bronx.

PR is a part of the good ole USA.:) I would love to live there myself. Simply a beautiful place. Thanks Neyra.

Well, I should have said 'mainland' US of A.
I've never visited PR either, I think it would be lovely to see in person. I don't think I'd want to live anywhere that didn't have distinct changes in season.
