The tag says Coelogyne massangeana (tomentosa) but looking at Jay's Internet Orchid Species site this surly can't be true. The main problem is that C. massangeana grows/blooms at 1150+ meters and Gainesville is what 3 meters above sea level? Additionally, the lips are different and the ovary is not covered. This is not an earth shattering inquiry. I've been cooped up for the last few days and am updating my files so after searching the Section Tomentosa on Jay's suite with no definitive result I thought I'd ask my fellow formites for advice. Many thanks and a happy new year of growing orchids! 100_1812.JPG

we would like see picture of single flower from front, but yes it is not tomentosa. Just to give you idea the attitude where you flower plant I assume Gainesville is in Florida? it has nothing to do where natural plant comes from... hahahaha oh dear in this case nearly none of us would be able to flower anything ;-P

For best guess from this pic I would say maybe a bit like Coelogyne pulverula syn dayana, but not really either so it could be even cross for example between those two sp...

can you make front picture of single flower please?

    regards

Thank you for your guess. I concur! There is a link to a photographer's web site (Peter Bryder) from Jay's C. pulverula page where he has a picture of my variety of C. pulverula same lip etc. Unfortunately the flowers on my plant have faded so until next time!
