I have the rest of the week off. I am oncall, so I may end up working anyway. But I remain hopeful that I will avoid that fate.

Today I have to do chores around the house. Tomorrow we go to my sister in-laws for Turkey. Friday is my oldests 3 year old B-day.

    I may brew on Saturday.

Maybe I will even take some pictures.

    What about all of you?

We are staying home this year, cooking together (along with a few mimosas, possibly Crown shots) will wonder why we thought we needed an 11 lb bird. Hoping and wishing for good weather to take a bike ride to the N Ga mountains. Visit with friends along the way and drink a few cold adult beverages over the course of the next 4 days.

I'm starting my cooking today so as to be able to enjoy a few of the adult beverages MJ has mentioned. I'm determined to have my son and daughter help me cook this year, as I'm going to feel especially guilty sending my daughter off to college knowing only how to cook pasta.

I should really get into brewing again. I think I've still got all my supplies in the attic. Hmmm....

I did it probably 20 years ago. I have a "mix" still in the can. I imagine it's still good:> I have my carboy, capper and bottles, I think. I stopped doing it because I used to make such a mess in the kitchen doing the bottling. But, I was living in an apartment then. I'm sure if I did the bottling outside now and could hose down the area, life would be good.

We used to have a couple brew supplies stores in Sac where I bought all my equipment. I'll have to get motivated one of these days.

Staining/sealing fence wood. Eating. Calling the folks. Eating. Riding my horse outside with friends. Eating. Working on winterizing the greenhouse cause its gonna get cold soon. Eating some more. Cleaning my fireplace bricks and putting sealant on them. Eating again. Pulling down and putting up a 150ft of privacy fence on Saturday with a dork helper that I hired for the event. Eating some more. I'd like to drink some too but I worry about that with the help I have to work with me on the fence. I think I better be completely clear headed for that. LOL.

Hey MJ, the smallest turkey I could find was nearly 20 lbs but I got it anyway cause I had a coupon to get it for 9 buckeroos. I bet the dogs like turkey and I have a big freezer. LOL.

Happy B-day to your 3yr old Forrest!!!

"Fun party"? Isn't that redundant? Or is it one of those kinds of parties? Nevermind. I don't wanna know.

My brother & his family are coming to town today from LA. We'll have Thanksgiving lunch with Mom, and Thanksgiving dinner with Dad. I'll probably get a little tipsy at dinner. My Canadian friend is coming to town today as well. We might go toss back a couple brewskis tonight. And then... I dunno. Maybe go see if I can find some discounted ski passes for this year. That's about it. Might photograph some stuff. Might not.

Turkey Day will be just DH and me. We'll put on a big spread, though, and eat leftovers all weekend. I plan to spend every waking moment in the shadehouse, chipping away at my huge inventory project. I may eek out a little time to decorate our xmas tree. And MAYBE, if I get far enough on my project, a little spin on the motorcycles Sunday morning. We have a cold front coming through, which means daytime temps in the glorious 70's, nights in the 50's.

today i donated 25 frozen turkeys to a couple of local charities.

tomorrow, the turkey trot here in miami. i have made some side dishes for an 'orphans thanksgiving,' so i'll be there and nibbling. this is a traditional yankee feast. then i've been invited to a friend's house, and i'm going to have a turkey that tastes like roast pork and is stuffed with rice and beans. yum! finally, i'm going to have dinner at a restaurant named christie's, so i don't have any dishes to do.

    saturday, sailing on biscayne bay.

sunday, i'll be baking fruitcake, scones, pumpkin bread, date nut cookies and gingerbread.

Cooking. Eating. Playing with the Orchids.
Eating more. Might even get the plastic up on the wall of the new "Greenhouse" AKA "roofed area".
    I owe Marni some pollen.
Spend time gazing at the excellent, never bloomed before, but in spike plants.
Try to keep from touching them.

    Eating yet more!

Hope everyone has a great Holiday!

Nice to "see" Posey, don't be such a stranger! :poke::poke:

Me and my wife are hosting Thanksgiving for the families for the first time. 16 people in total. Got the smoker rumbling, ready to chuck the turkeys in. We're doing "southern" thanksgiving. Collard greens, stewed green beans, cornbread, biscuits, etc.
