    tong tsu shi my first word was Masdevallia

    I got an orchid that looks like a Lepanthes from Trinidad.
    It was rescued from a constrution site in a forest in Trinidad.
    Who knows, mabey it is not even a reconised species

    Sooutheastern Pencilvania
    Trichosalpinx are similar to Lepanthes vegetatively, I think. Same inflated sheaths on the ramicaul, same diminutive stature, etc. Quite a bit different when they flower.

    I have a leaf that I broke off with a spike with seed pods.

    well, that doesn't look lepanthes-ish at all.

    Well I would not know because I grow cool growers and I think that Lepanthes are warm growers.

    Lepanthes species are found at a wide range of elevations and therefore temperature ranges. That looks like a Pleurothallis or perhaps a Stelis to me.

    That was my origenal thought.
    Also, the leaves are very thick.

    When I looked at the spike I thought it looked like a Lepanthes spike to me.
