I have an orchid keiki with a few roots, but there is a weird purple thing coming out of it. Any ideas on what it is?

    Could be a flower spike.

    Looks like another root forming.

Rylan, I agree with both guesses. Root tips are often a different color from others if the light intensity changes (reddening). On the other hand, if it is a flower spike, it will soon show nodes. Roots never do.
Still, by the shape, it looks like a root.

Do you see the hint of a collar rising to the right? That means it is an inflorescence, definitely NOT a root. Make sure you do not shift the angle to the sun after the first bud develops lest it lose its symmetry. Decide now how you want the blooms to fall open and place it in that direction. And good luck!

If you see a fist like thing on it, it may be a flower spike which is very rare
