Vay-kay!!

We are heading to Austin TX tomorrow for a week. DH has a IEEE symposium to attend and I have shopping and sight-seeing to attend to! I hope to meet with our own Chris while I'm there, although I know he has a pretty tight week coming up.
Anyway, I'm taking my laptop and card reader so I can upload any very cool photos I take.
If you read in the news of a woman spontaneously combusting in Austin, that will be me. All forecasts I see are 99F. Woo hoo.

 

Thanks, friends, I'm sure I will have fun. Blues, beers and BBQ. That's right. Oh, and bats.

 

I did see the bats last night, that is wild. I couldn't get a decent photo of them coz it was, you know, darkish. But I'll keep trying.
I'm headed for the CVS right now then the Stevie Ray Vaughn memorial, that's right down the street from our hotel. Then, back here to the pool.
Tonight is a party at Stubb's BBQ. My buddy Mary Margaret from Panashield is hosting. A good time will be had by all, I'm sure. Whenever MM is involved, fun ensues.

This city has mnore bars then I've ever seen. Damn.

Did Stubb's BBQ last night, good freaking brisket. Cold beer, too. They didn't have Superior though.

 

Not as many as one might imagine, I haven't really kept a running tally.. I have found that these Hell-high temperatures are not conducive to really effective bar-crawling. We did stop at Coyote Ugly the other night...all of the bars on 6th street are pretty much college bars and I am far from a college girl. The kids see us and start looking around for their parents..
I'm having a blast though. Screw these drunk little kids..
