For the longest time, I could not grow them well, if at all,but since I have stopped watering them in the winter, all is well.!
Two clones ,the one on the left is the "Amani island" type (swept back petals),and the mainland form (wider flowers, touch of rose on the spur).I like them both, even if the first one is a little more fragrant.(the fragrance is a dead ringer for sugared almonds!) Very nice! I've done poorly with this species, I just mounted my two remaining scraps to see if they do better for on wood than in pots.

    Spiro,
Do you literally mean a complete dry rest or a reduction in watering? How long do you do this for?

Almost complete dry rest, with good humidity.Of course if I see the plant shrivel excessively ,I water it.This lasts all winter when the temps are lower.

Spiro, congratulations, very nice plants !
I have 2 of them: one green leaves and one variegated leaves. They are blooming every year and may be you have right, in winter I water them less than in summer.
I potted them in Japanese way , you can find it on http:

and already 3 years they are very happy
    Worth to try !

Oh, those are nice! And I'd guess that your growing area smells wonderful too.
