The first two photos were taken with the Canon EOS400D, while the last was taken with the older wide angle Olympus C5060. The Canon is 10.1 megapixels while the Oly is only 5.1.
Somehow each has its own points...I can't bear to part with the Oly though, which I got in 2003.
    Which photo do you prefer?

I'm wondering why the difference in color tone? The bottom image looks as if the color is natural while the first two look as if you have a filter or white balance error.

I agree with Marni. It also looks like maybe you have the ISO set up high on the canon, as the grain is very prevalent.

Years ago when I bought my first Canon film camera I had a blue cast to all of my slides. Almost all of my photography at that point was product photos of pottery, frequently on a white background which made it very noticeable. I talked to the camera store, no everything was fine. Went that way for years, used that lens on several cameras. One time I happened to have it cleaned by a very sharp guy at the camera store and he noticed that the skylight filter on my camera was not really a skylight filter. It said it was on the rim, but it had a blue cast to it. Life was different after I put on a proper skylight filter. Life was even better when I bought a Tamron lens.

If you ignore the flowers & look at the plant, I think the last picture color is more "true".
Or, it could just be my taste!

I like the last photo as well. The other two look artificial. Now, nt, I'm going to have to being tracking down THIS plant! Aren't you ashamed of yourself?

Thank you for the comments, guys.

I tried to get the ISO from 400 to 100, and also tried to take photos using the macro lens, instead of the lens adaptors. The light source setting remains at "white fluorescent lamp".

There is little difference with the colour tones.

I am sure of one thing, though. I need to play around with the Canon some more, lol...

Angela, I have Vanda luzonica x luzonica in flask, but the yield is not so great. I have another seedpod on the way, though.

Yes, you need to change the light source from white flor. to something else. Choose either automatic or take a photo with every light source choice to see which is more accurate. You can also set a custom white balance, which I do for most of my shots. Makes the colors much more accurate.

    I agree with Candace.

Are you using white florescent lights?

    Yes I do.

I use two reflector lamps with curly white fluorescents.

Thank you for the suggestions, guys.
