Vanda javierae (often misspelled javieri)

    A Philippine species that stays compact and grows well in intermediate to cool-intermediate temperatures. The flowers are about 2.5" wide. I grow it potted in moderately bright light.

    Truly gorgeous! I'm continually struck by how much more beautiful I find Vanda species than 95% of the hybrids I've seen (no knock on the hybridizers, I appreciate their efforts but...). Kew has this one as javierae, BTW.

    great growing on this one Marni! Is this one a slow grower for you? May be one day mine will bloom...

    Not particularly slow and it does bloom on a fairly small plant.
