    Hi, everybody
I am writing to receive advices about vanda orchid care...
We've bought two vanda via an e-shop from Holland and we've got them after they have almost spent 1 week in a box...obviously they've got with no flower ( few dried ones are among the leaves )
Th plants are with us since a month now, we keep them inside near the window ( south east exposure) , they are in little basket with their roots hanging, no direct sun. We use to spray both leaves and roots with water twice per day and also plunge the roots in water for 30 min. alternate-day..we also spray them with fertilizer.
I am worried beacause I see dried edge of the leaves and some of the leaves seem to be wirikled even though totally green.
At the same time I also see new leaves growing and maybe what they call "keiki"...which are positive signs, I guess..
I attach some pictures to better analyze the situation....please, I ask help to all experts of vandas....are these vanda at risk?
    Thank you all! estremita-secche.jpg foglie-consistenzajpg.jpg foglie-in-crescita.jpg keiki.jpg estremita-secche.jpg foglie-consistenzajpg.jpg foglie-in-crescita.jpg keiki.jpg

The roots are OK for me, especially that new one - look big, and in good health. The leafs looks a bit dehydrated - maybe air humidity is low. I don't think that your vandas are at risk at all. Keiki is god news :) and not unusual for vandas. You can use vit.B water solution - weekly - for leaf and root stimulation.

Thank you , lila! Meanwhile we have bought a mist maker and it is on near the plant..it has been since 1 week now and the roots have been improving day after day, they are vivid green now..and the new leaves are not turning dehydratated...just one question, please...where can I find vit B? Is it a liquid solution?
    Thank you so much :)

In the US it is carried by many regular plant nurseries. If there are hydroponic stores in your area they would also be a good place to check. The B1 I've seen is in a liquid form. I think Lila is right that humidity is probably the main problem.

Some people grow Vandas decently well indoors using 'vase culture,' basically just keeping the roots in a large vase/jar with lower leaves or basket resting in/on the rim. I think the vase is filled with water or fertilizer solution every day or two, left to soak for a few minutes, then drained. The idea is to provide roots that tricky (in a house, anyway) combination of humidity, light, and air; evaporation of water left in the vase may also improve humidity for the leaves. Another key advantage for indoor growers is that it's mostly self-contained and less drippy or messy. I've never tried it so I may be getting some details wrong but a web search should turn up some good pictures and descriptions.

You are very welcome :) the mist maker is a good solution, but keep in mind that the roots must dry also.
About vit.B complex - you can use solution for injection, or Superthrive.

That is good solution also :)
