I got this for my birthday after about a year of coveting and visiting a siphon coffee bar in San Francisco. It makes the best cup of home-brewed coffee I have ever had. Smooth as velvet, no hint of bitterness. People who normally couldn't drink black coffee would probably be able to drink the stuff that pours out of this machine.

Oh man, that is cool as shit!

Ya know, I was thinking the other day, I wouldn't mind trying a different brew method for coffee. Hmmm. Bodum, huh?

very interesting...they used something similar where I was staying in Peru...the only difference is they made it very, very, very strong (called it coffee syrup) you would then take some of it and add it to a cup of hot water and you had your coffee

This contraption would have to do some fancy footwork to beat my French Press. The
article mentioned that French Press has more grinds in the final product. My FP never
has such imperfections. I think I'm a bit insulted for my FP!

I've lived here for a year and I cook on it almost every day.
