Just joined. Looking for help: Just received a Paph. QF Makani (violascens x leucochilum) yesterday afternoon from an Etsy seller. The leaves looked fine when I took it out of the box. It did come loose from its pot during shipping and two of its longest roots had snapped off. I watered it and immediately look a photo to leave on the review.

Today (~24 hours later) I see some brown spots on the leaves... it doesn't seem like typical browning dry edges that I've experienced. I don't have much experience with paphs, but this seems really rapid (this happened in the past 24 hours).

Humidity has been around 50% (Im in Norther Nevada, its dry here, 50% is high). It is in the same potting medium that it was shipped in. I only added the moss on top an hour ago after I noticed the brown spots. The water is high in minerals.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me like bruising from being bounced around in the package. The fact that it appeared after you got it suggests it happened near your end of the transit.

I'd definitely provide feedback to the Etsy seller, as the packing was apparently insufficient.

Welcome to the forum! Did you send the pictures to the vendor? I would ask about a replacement or a discount. They may not be reponsible for how the package is handle in transit, but they should be responsible for adequately packaging the plant. Coming out of the pot is not OK.

Okay. Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it. I did contact the seller last night. Haven't heard anything yet.

    Thanks!
