I bought a few seedlings of Laelia purpurata a few years ago, and I was pleased to find that two of them have particularly dark purple lips. The second one is almost solid purple on the outer part of the lip with barely discernible veins. The first one is a little larger and frillier though. IMG_4696.JPG IMG_4701.JPG

Very beautiful. I bought a werkhauseri ("blue" variety) a few months ago that bloomed out quite a bit paler than I expected, but it was its first bloom. Do know if purpuratas tend to improve with future bloomings?
