Here are two of my Cattleya maxima plants currently in bloom. Both are quite different in growth habit. One, while still immature, is tall and lanky, and looks like it will continue to get taller with the subsequent growths. Both parents were coerulea, but sadly it is a tipo. The flowers are a uniform soft pink, and the lip is also a fairly soft pink. It is grown on a cork slab in fairly bright light.

The other, a more mature plant, is a typical upland form and is short and stocky. It's quite a tough, stout plant. The flowers are cream with darker veination when they first open, and then gradually turn to light pink. The veins on the petals remain visible. It is grown in a pot with large hunks of charcoal, so it drains and dries very quickly. It is grown in bright light. In the photo, the flowers on the first spike are just opening, so most are still creamy. The flower that is most of the way open is becoming pink. It is almost at the "regular" pink blush color all flowers will have once they've been open a bit. I took a closeup to show the veins on the petal.

Nice! I have one of those seedlings from Exotic Orchids of Maui that will bloom soon. The second one is really nice. Almost looks semi-alba right now.
