I'm glad to see that the pics are coming down so quickly. I recognized a few other photos on there but it appears like he just cropped out the owners name and/or water mark from some of the pics. I thought the one picture was one of Dale B's and it appears as if he just cropped his name off the bottom. Frustrating for us and unbelievably audacious on his part.

I tried to find out who grew it because it is an incredible plant/blooming.

Marni, have you used Google Image Search's upload function? Simply save a copy of the photo and then drag and drop it to the image search bar. Google will find any copies, even if it has been cropped or flipped.

It's crazy how some dishonest people underestimate the power of internet search engines.

And it works like a charm. It takes you right to Ed Merkle's image, rather wonderful for checking on image thieves.

So, I'm taking a coffee break and found where some of the phal images come from. Shot of an email to alert that photographer.

    Yup, it belongs to Ed.

Jacob, I will try that technique later. Thank you for the tip.

Marni, I no longer participate at OB. It has been at least a couple years now and I will have to find my log-in passwords..., I deleted all my photos there and left after Marty, OB owner, decided to stick up his sponsor, Seattle Orchids/Incredible Orchids/U.S. Orchids who stole many of my photos. One of the things Marty said about it was (Something like this): Don't blame it on the thief/robber if you show them your money in your wallet.

I sent him an email. He still has a couple images posted that he took from my website. I've spent a bit of time now looking up many of his images. There have only been a handful that couldn't be traced to someone else's image.

I wonder if he will answer your email and apologize.

I haven't received any apology, only threats. I doubt he'll apologise to anyone.

I don't expect he will apologize to anyone, but threats? LOL!

Marni, I'm a member of multiple orchid forums so I will let the owner of the image and the forum be aware of the issue, as well as other forums. Perhaps the pressure from all forums will help to correct this wrong.

Paul, I've also notified a number of people about the use of their images. So far not one has said they gave permission. At least one was taken down over night.

However, he has not removed these two.
His use of my image: http://www.tropicorchidees.com/orchidees-botaniques/343-dendrobium-crepidatum.html

He has now taken mine down. At least we know he is following this thread carefully.
