Wow. I just saw this - thank you for being our champion, Jacob! The logic he uses to justify his actions is as flawed as his moral compass!

Nice work, Jacob! Makes me PO'd at flickr that they don't allow public shaming for clear photo-theft...

Well, he has been shamed on two french forums as well as comments on his business practice. His usual answer, he has threatened to sue.. with the result that the subject
has been taken off on one of the forum ( the webmaster there wants a hassle free life). I'm glad the pictures are taken off though.
We have a couple of sellers like this in France, they come in with a lot of nerve, they push and abuse and at the slightest and justified complaint they accuse you of harassment and want to sue.

Oh my!!! Just read this thread. I'm glad he has removed the images, but still - the nerve.

Reminds me of a story about a family going on vacation somewhere in Europe a few years back and they were a bit unnerved when everyone seemed to be staring at them as they exited the airport. On the way to the hotel, they saw their family picture from a few years back on billboards advertising some product that had been pulled off of a photo sharing website.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is all too common. People tend to think that just because you are far away you will never find out. WRONG!!!

It doesn't look like he stole any of my photos. I'm 1/2 sad and 1/2 happy.

Armando, be careful what you wish for. Speaking from my own experience, it isn't a funny matter. Sure, if it is just one photo, you might feel it is flattering, but when they "steal" from you again and again, you will feel violated.

OK Tom, I'm 75% happy and 25% sad. After it happens for the first time I'll start being 100% angry.

I'm not at all happy in any way. I got some photos stolen by him and he took them away when I emailed him about it. But 75% of all the photos are still there and 90% of them are stolen.
He just takes the photos off when someone actively tells him to. This means that I have to put down valuable time to search for my photos on HIS webpage.

He is one of the worst photo thiefs have encountered this far. I will actively see to that none of my customers or friends buy a thing from him.

I've been looking through the pics and it looks like he took Tom's pic of phymatidium tillandsioides, I believe it's listed as falcifolium. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Thanks Zack. It is my Phymatidium photo and I don't even use flickr. Now I also begin to think that Schoenordhis gemmata belongs to me or someone else here.

Can someone send him a nasty email in french for me? Well, I couldn't find his email address....

Yup, it is gone, along with my Phymatidium photo. This guy must have been watching this thread here.

Quite possibly. If you look at his images, he has taken down all but a couple of the angraecoids. He has some lovely specimens of phalaenopsis there. Wonder if he grew those himself?

I doubt he actually grows any of those phals, Marni. I am pretty sure at this point 80% of the photoes he has used for his sales are not his photos. I doubt he has permission to use that Phal. lueddemanniana photo and I will let the owner know about that.

I just found out another horrible thing this French guy did--He cropped out cxcanh's name on the Schoenorchis scolopendria photo and used it for his Schoenorchis seidenfadenii.

Ps: cxcanh is from Vietnam, who has posted lots of lovely orchid species photos here.

Tom, I'm sorry you were also a target. I haven't wanted to add flame to the fire, but I'll add the last 48 hours I found an additional 10 images not listed here; I contacted their owners and hopefully that has gone some way to help.

I am really heartened by the awareness and altruism this ingredient has brought out among our international orchid species community. If we keep a lookout for each others interests and safety we'll all benefit!

A special thanks to our fearless forum owner for supporting us in this stand for fairness and decency; Brent you're awesome :D
