Trisetella hoeijeri has got to be one of the most rewarding miniature orchids with it's crystalline
flowers that seem to just float above the little pin cushion of leaves. When happy it flowers many times a year.

Hi Marni, Thanks. I'm growing it in strait sphagnum with the bottom of the pot knocked out
and 1/4" holes drilled all around the side of the pot with a glass bit.

I agree that it is very rewarding. Yours is obviously much happier than mine. Is that Dendrobium cuthbertsonii that it is growing next to? If it is that explains why mine isn't as happy as yours ;)

    Thanks Tom.
Yes, about 2500 foot candles. the foliage is tinted purple.
I know it doesn't appear that bright but that's because I crank the exposure way down
    on my camera.

Do Trisetellas need a break between waterings? I don't grow any of the species well. The best one I had, scobina, I divided and killed.

I find that most like to dry between waterings and don't do well when there is a lot of moss build up. I water them most days, but they are on hard wood and dry quickly. They are tricking to divide. If the come apart naturally when remounting, great. If you try to divide them at other times you frequently end up with 2/3 of the leaves scattered around the table and much less of the plant than you started with.
