My Trisetella hoeijeri bloomed! I love this plant. It's about an inch tall and has pointy, fleshy leaves that get purplish under bright light.

I've also seen this species in the wild in Ecuador! It grows under much shadier conditions in nature than it does in my orchidarium.

I purchased this plant from a show in Chicago from Ecuagenera last year.

My plant, natural spread ca. 2":

Wild plant, natural spread unknown, looks bigger though :): T hoeijeri in situ.jpg

Thanks for posting the in situ photo. It's great.

Your plant has better color than mine. Mine doesn't have color on the dorsal sepal and the stripes on mine are not as prominent. I really like yours.

very nice Alfonso. I think it is the best species of the genus. In the in situ shot is the plant on a fallen tree branch that is more or less horizontal?

Thanks! I love how the sepals sparkle. The plant I saw in the wild was growing in some remnant forest near the edge of a cow pasture on a fallen branch that was more or less horizontal and only a few feet off the ground.

I'm growing T. hoeijeri under intermediate/cool conditions. I grow a room in my apartment that I air condition separately from the rest of my apartment with a portable air conditioner. I keep day temps between 72-75F and night temps drop down to 61F. I think the temperature drop before the lights go out is really important. I notice a lot of bud blasting if I get home late a few nights in a row and don't turn down the air in time.

Stephen, the conditions that Alfonso describes may be optimum (I really don't know) for this species however, I grow it much warmer and it seems to be doing fine. There are a lot of Pleurothallids that don't like my temps but this one doesn't seem to mind. I have 3 or 4 Trisetellas and they are all doing ok in my intermediate-warm conditions.

I am by no means an expert with this one but I think Alfonso is getting the temps close to ideal. Perhaps a little cool for the summer than I do but it looks good and the color is excellent. I think a little warmer or cooler depending on the season isn't too much of a problem for it. As long as the media is damp and freely draining it has been fine for me.
