I don't have any collection information on this nor do I have a name yet. The plant is beautiful when it is a specimen. I divided it down about a year ago and lost most of the divisions. I won't be doing that again for a long time.

The foliage and growth habit are quite beautiful. The leaves themselves remind me of snap peas. I look forward to seeing it once it's a specimen again!

Beautiful growth habit. I have something similar named T. blaisdellii which is not correct.

I have what I think is blaidellii and it is also nice. There are some wonderful trichosalpinx that are beautiful plants even if some of them bloom on the underside of the leaf. I hope to get a name on this soon.

After seeing this I looked into the genus. It is a much larger and complex genus than I realized and has some species that I would like to try. Thanks for the post.

Kelly, this has been a bit of a dumping ground for species that just didn't fit in elsewhere. So there is a wide variety and some of them are really charming/attractive/rewarding. Almost all qualify as interesting.

    Funky!
Sorry about the divisions. That's always frustrating!

Lovely. Are you growing this cool or intermediate? I have been growing mine cool and it has been sloooow, only one new leaf in 13 months.

Thanks. I'm afraid to move it. I think I'll leave it where it is. It's hard to decide which is better for it, min 50°F (my cool) or min 58-60°F (my "intermediate").

I'm pretty sure this is T. patula. Drawing of the type for the species is here and the description is here.

I'd leave it where you have it. It came from Petite Plaisance when they closed and it was in the lower house which had always been the cool house and for up to a year had been unheated and went into the 40's regularly in the winter.

Thanks, Marni. I checked on it today, and guess what, it actually has made two leaves in the past year and is looking better than I had thought; now I feel better.
