I hope you're all safe. Those fires look horrifying.

    Totally. Keep yourselves safe.

And, dont listen to people when they tell you that this is god punishing you for making Fosters beer. That is not true. I am pretty sure.

Please let us know! Tannie, Gongora, Meth, Fiona, and all I've missed!
I think Tannie posted all were safe, but that Gongora was in harms way...

I know everyone is ok except for Roy. Only Roy & Craig are from Victoria as far as I know, and Craig is ok. Not sure if Roy has been around?
I think the fear at the moment is that some of the fires will join up, and unbelievably arson is suspected in some of them.

Whole towns have been wiped off the map, and the death toll is over 180 so far.
It's worth noting that in these small communities many of the firies are volunteers. They leave their own at-risk properties to try to save others.
Lots of native animals injured too.

Forrest, Fosters have been a big corporate donor to the bushfire appeal. Doesn't excuse them for that beer though

I'm fine, I think Tracey has spent a bit to long in the Emporium though, I'm actually from New South Wales and even though there were a few fires around our way, it was nothing compared to Victoria. I have been in harms way once before though, a long time ago. And I have an Idea what the people down south of me must be feeling. If I could ever get my hands on any one of those complete arsehole's thats started one of those fires I would tear the skin off their flesh and chuck em into a vat of salt. Imagine getting home from work one day only to be told you have to leave NOW, you've got ten minutes to get out what do you take???(You'd be amazed at the shit that goes on in your head, I was lucky that time!) Allot of the poor the bastards in Vic didn't even get that!!!! all because some lunatic has a fascination with fire. The other factor with all this has been the Temps. To give you an idea, last Sunday the backyard hit 48C roughly speaking thats about 118F give or take. The only bright side to this is that I am constantly amazed at how tuff orchids can be, with some careful maintenance they will survive these temps. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Oh and Forrest the only reason I'd drink Fosters is to get a bladder full of Piss to help put out one of those fires:rolleyes:

I could have sworn you were from Vic. Don't blame the Emporium. I'd be even more feeble-minded if it wasn't for my beloved beer...
Craig, have you ever bought natives from Eddie (can't remember his last name) from Fernacres in Kinglake? I've bought from him off Ebay, a great vendor. Hope he's alright, his business has probably been wiped out though :(

Hey folks, all ok here. The Saturday the bad fires started we had 100kmph winds here and the area could have been as bad as in the east, fortunately nothing happened but there is a long way to go yet. I live in the west of Victoria and we had bad fires in 2006 which missed us by 200 meters. A bit too close or comfort.

GOOD NEWS, one person has been arrested and charged over the lighting of one fire that caused 10 deaths. Problem is that it appears he has a mental problem.
