Thread titles and abbreviations

Brent is working on improving our ability searching and sorting threads posted on OI by an individual genus. In order for this to be as inclusive and useful as possible, it is important that the full name of the plant is in the thread title. If you are listing a Cattleya forbesii but use an abbreviation (C. forbesii, Catt. forbesii, etc) in the thread, when someone searches on Cattleya your post won't come up. It might take a few seconds more to use the full name but I think it will pay off in the end.

If you want to see what has been added, take a look at the tab just under the Orchids Interactive logo and you will see "Orchid genera". You can click on any of the names and see what threads have been posted in that genus. That will make it really easy if you are interested in a particular genus and also good for just plain window shopping.
