Is it safe to use it on Dendrobiums species from sections Formosae(aka Nigrohirsute), Oxyglossum and Cuthbertsonia.
I believe Thiomyle and Cleary have the same major ingredients, so please share info if you have used these products on your Dendrobiums from these three sections. Thanks.

I've used Clearys a few times on seedlings, but never on the collection in general so can't help with this. At least I can bump it back up to the top.

Thanks. I will need to do some test...One way another, I have to spray those plants before I move them in for the winter. Last fall, I was lazy and the weather was wet and cool at night outside, some of the outdoor plants, especially the Dendrobium species from the Formosae section developed some kind of fungal/bacterial disease... few of them died slowly and few lost most of the leaves. Got to do some spraying soon!

Yeah, like Marni, I've used Clearys, but never on the whole collection. I've used it on a mature plant or two -- but usually as the last and ultimate line of defense. :) Let us know if it works.

Just an update--I sprayed those Dendrobium from the Formosae section five days ago with Thiomyl and some leaves did get spots and drop off... Although my observation is not conclusive, I would not recomend this product for the Dendrobium species from the Formosae section. Few of my Trias species don't seem to like it much either.
I have not used it for the Dendrobiums from the Oxyglossum or Cuthbertsonia and I most likely would not try it for those types of Dendrobium.

I have been using Thiram on seedlings, including cuthbertsonii, coming out of flask. I haven't had any damage and am pleased. The problem with it is in the US as far as I can tell in is only sold in 5 gal containers which cost about $450. It is sold in a powder form in smaller amounts in Europe. I was giving some to try, but haven't found a source for smaller amounts. It is used in grass seed production.
