There may be nothing to do, but searching for things that I'm sure I have posted turns up nothing. I have to search on all threads that I have started and scroll. Then I find it. Not very elegant. Bitch, bitch, bitch...

As I reread the title of my post, it does seem a bit rude. Sorry.

Have you tried it by just typing in the genus name(no sp. name)? Sometimes, that way works a lot better for me.

Yes, and just the species name. Also just my name. Even without a bit of wine, it doesn't work for me.;)

I like the tag search. Have you tried that? It's a huge alphabetical list of just about everything.

Search function has been updated, optimized, rebuilt, undone, and tweaked. Please try searching, and let me know what you think of the new functionality.

Jon, that's a world of difference!!! I did the search again for Angraecum and came up with 2 pages just now, rather than the 7 or 8 posts I was getting last night. Thank you very, very much.

You're welcome! I'm glad it works better now.

Ann (and Jon), I do use the tag search function too, but it doesn't always work. I just tried it again for angraecum and it returns a very limited result, perhaps 7 or 8 posts, but not the one I was searching for last night, which was Angraecum ramosum arachnites. Neither ramosum nor arachnites are listed in the tags. If the search function works well now I'm happy, but wonder if the tags would affect our listing on search engines.

Tags are a tricky issue, unfortunately. Forrest and I have put it on the back burner. I'll see if we can prioritize it.

There are things way more import than tags, this is a great improvement.

For what it's worth, the tag search function isn't going to capture all threads. It will only query those threads that have tags associated with them. I would recommend using the search or advanced search functions.
