I grow in a 24' x 36' shadehouse in South Florida. The structure is completely enclosed by either 55% or 30% shadecloth, and the roof is a durable plastic cloth.

Here are a few shots from earlier today. We have had an extremely cool - by our standards - winter; including a few nights down into the lower 40s. These cold nights have caused some damage to my plants, including bud blast and leaf drop. On the bright side, 3 Dendrobiums that have never bloomed for me are currently in bud.

I can't help adding a bit of floof to my show here. I don't even remember what the damn thing is named (and am too lazy and comfy now to go out and check); but it's been blooming in giant flushes for a few months, so I guess it has earned an honorable mention.

    This is my paradise...

I think I need one. The shadehouse... not the floof.

LOL! Well, I've always been one for offending polite society...

Cattleya hybrids are what started my Orchid journey, so I still have a number in my collection. It's hard to hate them when they've gotten immense and put on a spectacular show every year.

Same here, Alexis. I still have some of floofs and I don't think I will ever get rid of them. Matter of fact, I still buy one or two of them once in a while.

    BTW, your plants look great.

Real nice. You have to take the good with the bad when you can grow basically outside with no heat.

Thanks, folks! I know I'm very fortunate...

That would be Peanut, and she still loves the LG as much as I do! A good day is when I get all 5 of my kitty girls lounging around in there while I'm toiling away.

What a wonderful growing space. The plants look really happy, as I'm sure you are when you are in there.
