To any one who is interested in terrestrial orchids, the bulletin of the Scottish Rockgarden Society for Dec. 2016 has a good article with many, many pictures of a trip to Sicily, specifically to photograph the terrestrial orchids. Log onto The Scottish Rock Garden Club The International Gardner and scroll down past the donation button to the yearly/monthly list and click on Dec. 2016. This is well worth viewing, the pictures are great, some even in the snow.

Thanks Kelly, I found the article while scanning the Pacific Bulb Society forum, they had a link to it. I tried to find the best way to get to it but I am not very computer literate. I don't know how to find the best link, I tried using the info at the top of the page, I don't know what it's called, the www what ever, but every time I put it in I didn't get where I wanted to be. So I found that what I put in the thread seemed to work. How did you find the link?
Aren't those pictures something, I especially like the deep purple on some of the shots. They are orchids that I never even heard of, but very interesting.
I am glad that there are some places where the native orchids are not being dug up and sold at local venues.
I live where some of the locals will dig up flowering plants, orchids or what ever and sell them at "farmers Markets". This has caused a great decline, especially of our native orchids, trilliums, lilies ect. I am sure that the vast majority of them do not survive where they are transplanted.
There is a small preserve near me that has never been striped, it is open to the public every spring and it is a absolute delight to see the woodland as it is meant to be.

Thank you CoveLady and Kelly for the link. Their forum is a pretty good place to learn about some of the terrrestrial orchids, too.
