One of the non-giant sobralias I can grow in my small greenhouse, this one gets yellow/greenish-yellow 2.5-3" cupped flowers on a 32" tall plant. Kept moist year-round, grown in intermediate to warm conditions in cattleya light levels.

Such a cool flower. This species must be very adaptable since I've seen it at the Atlanta Botanical Garden where they grow it in their cool house.

Their "cool" is probably equivalent to our intermediate/warm here at 40ºN in Ohio.

Actually, I think it is more cool than one would expect considering how hot Atlanta gets. They have some sophisticated cooling system installed in the cool-growing conservatory so the temperatures are more like 52-55 and 70 F year round. It allows them to grow hundreds of Masdevallias, Draculas, miniature Dendrobiums, Lepanthes, and other cool stuff. One of the best orchid collections I've ever seen.
