SO WHO IS GOING TO POE 2012 ???

    I'm very excited about the up coming show, this years theme is a salute to the Golden Gate Bridge and it's 75th birthday, it is the SFOS 60th.birthday. We have a great new sponsor this year to help us really put on a fantastic event! There will be a couple of new vendors from out of the country, and a great new ticket option that includes the Gala preview and unlimited access to the 3 day show for only $55. Gala night is Feb.23, there will be food, wine, a band, and first chance to purchase plants. Tom Perlite of Golden Gate Orchids will be doing the main exhibit for the 10th year in a row, he always comes up with some thing awesome, this year he has a replica of the GG bridge that is 50ft long and 18ft tall, you will be able to walk over it down the center of the display!     I'll bet this photo was taken early in the morning, often times by lunch time it becomes a shoulder to shoulder shuffle. It's very exciting, I look forward to seeing so many people from OI, I'm sure Marni, and Morabeza (Jacob) I'll bet Karen will be there, Kelly I sure hope you can make it, this year is going to be very special ! Candice are you going to make it? I wouldn't be surprised to see Carol Seagal from Las Vegas, Mary Nesbit from Bolinus is putting in her own exhibit. There will also be 2 new vendors from out of the country.

    We attend the preview party on Thursday night. It's a lot of fun (did I mention the wine & food?) and if you're shopping for unusual plants that's the best time to get them, although there are no deals to be had on Thursday evening - wait for Sunday afternoon if you're after deals. Sometimes we also attend Friday morning but I don't think that's part of the plan this year; I think instead we'll jet out to Pacifica to see Scott at White Oak.

    Who's attending the Thursday night gala?

    I'll be there! I'm working security on Thursday for part of the evening, and frantically shopping the rest of the time as I have to work the rest of the weekend! So sad about that, but at least I'll get to go.

    Gala preview is just 1 week from today, I just have a feeling that this year is going to be extra special, what with the new sponsor and the GG bridge theme! I've got so many plants (species) that I'm really proud of, this will be my 7th year as a vendor, it just keeps getting better. My display will be educational and feature a huge C. seed pod along with blooming flowers on the plant. Reyna, I've put aside a lovely Ang. germ. for you! (bigger than Jacobs) shhhh....

    I've been spray painting props for my exhibit this week and Karen is coming to help me get things ready. I'll also be selling my flasks at Botanica's booth this year. It hasn't always been the case in the past, but I'm really looking forward to the show this year. I've set a bit of money aside in the hope that there will be a lot of good shopping to be done.

    Thanks Debby. And, Marni, I'll be sure to come and find you at Brenda's booth. Peter will be at H&R's booth. It will be like a "society" meeting of the OI folks. :)
