So this is probably a hell of a long shot, but I've run out of places to look and I'd really like to replace the orchid I lost to dehydration (Why, me?? Why??).
I'm currently looking for (obsessively hunting for) this ruffly odd-ball that I found in our local Lucky's Market, which I believe is either a recessive trait, or perhaps a mutation. I haven't been able to find much useful info on him. (Picture attached)

Please let me know if you are interested in selling, or if you know where to find this orchid! The colors don't need to be exactly identical, but the closer the better. At this point, as long as it has the pink freckles and the peachy-pink lip (along with the ruffles and petal "spike", obviously) the flowers can be completely white or cream for all I care. And if you have other colors I wouldn't mind taking a look at those either, because like I said, this is a hell of a long shot, but my color priority is a flower with pink freckles and that peachy-pink lip.

This could be a fruitless venture, but I suggest asking the store who supplies them their orchids. Then send the supplier a picture of your flower/plant and beg and plead! There could be more detective work than that. It's a really nice flower ( not to rub salt in the wound ) and I feel your pain :)

Check out my "A nice Trader Joe's score" thread with a Doritaenopsis displaying recessive Phal. schilleriana genes. And good luck!

I actually threw some feelers out there this afternoon while we were in town, so hopefully that turns up something. They're supposed to email me the contact info within the next couple of days (since the gal I spoke to didn't know the name off the top of her head). Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to find that elusive bugger. xD

And that is one lucky find! Definitely a looker. I get most of my Phals from Lowes, so not much in the way of odd-balls just yet, but I try to keep my eyes open for them. (I did see a really nice one that I wish I'd bought today, but oh well)
