It's been a Laelia, Schomburgkia, and back to Laelia...who know what it is today. I have a few sawyeri plants in my collection and this is the first to open with two spikes.

The flowers are 3 1/2 in. across and the largest p-bulb is a foot long, the spikes are at least 5 foot.

Thanks for the plant image, it isn't as big as I would have imagined. Beautiful flowers.

Very nice, Jean. The plant is an acceptable size but a 5 foot spike?! Dang.

Every time you post one of your Schoms, I think that I will get one and then you tell the spike length and I banish that thought right away! I'll just continue to enjoy yours. You grow and bloom them so well.
