    Salamanders are such bizarre little creatures and I always enjoy seeing them - which is rare. Thanks for the cool post.

    Nice, Zach! Looks like a Red-backed Salamander (Plethodon cinereus).

    No problem! I figured he wouldn't live long in the pool. I see quite a few of these around.
