This phal was recently given to me... A few weeks ago the bottom leaf yellowed/withered and died. I didn't think much of it, but when I got home from vacation yesterday, two more had taken ill.

I noticed rough brown patches even on the new growth.

    Help?

Unless this is some valuable plant (awarded or exceptionally rare), I would give up on it and start with a healthy one. Orchids can take a long time to respond and this one looks like it has some serious troubles. Do you grow other orchids? If you decide to keep it, I would keep it away from other plants.

i think it may have phalaenopsis mites or another type of microscopic mite
i would also discard it but, if you have other plants and this was near them, they may also have them now
