Can Restrepias be self pollinated? Also about how long does a seed pod take to mature particularly of genera? It is about the average 6 months to a year like other orchids?

Jai, at least some of the species will successfully self pollinate. I routinely get spontaneous capsules on mine which mature and produce seed. Looking on Troy Meyers site, he has successfully flasked spontaneous and selfing seed.

I did a selfing of Restrepia trichoglossa several years ago and 6 capsules ripened within 40 days ... so very fast.

That is odd you mentioned Troy Meyers...I was actually going to use his flasking system:D I was going to self my xanthophthalma and try to get seed.

    Really? That is fast!
