Hey guys, Haven't been on the forum that long and as such I am constantly finding brilliant old threads that I either have a question about or would love to see updates on the plant etc. but don't know what is actually the proper thing to do in such a case. is it better to bump up an old thread or is that annoying to you guys? Really don't want to be annoying, I'm just nosey!

There is no "proper" thing to do in this case. You are as much a part of the Forum as us old-timers. Being "proper" will be enforced on such things as conduct, civility, spam and blatant commercialism, etc.

My personal preference is to see old threads bumped up if someone has something to contribute to the topic or is interested in cultural information, how a plant has progressed, where to purchase, etc. I think that is great and benefits a lot of us. It does kind of annoy me when there are a bunch of threads bumped because someone is saying "beautiful" on a bunch of 7-8 year old threads. Again, that is just personal preference.

I feel you Kipper! I have learned so much from all the old posts, and wish all the masters that used to post here were still around. Not sure what happened, but at least we still have the archives! I agree with Kelly, and I'm guilty of bumping a few old threads just to say Wow! But sometimes a special plant just needs a bump ;)

"I realize this is a 'Y' year old thread, but I wonder about..." seems appropriate to me.

You may have noticed or thought of something none of the rest of us did, making it educational for all.
