    Hello, everyone.

I have volumes 1 to 5 of Native Colombian Orchids, each in perfect and quite possibly unused condition. I don't think anyone has actually looked in at least two of the books.

I understand that these are relatively rare books now that they are out of print, and quite desirable.

Not really wanting them myself, I thought the best people to tell me where I should sell them so that they may be enjoyed by a serious orchid fancier - and perhaps even give me an insight into value - would be members of a forum such as this one.

I've looked online and at the moment I'm thinking that the best thing to do would simply be to put them on eBay, either individually or as a set.

Any thoughts or comments would be most welcome.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I would think the best place would be ebay, since there is a wide audience that used that source. Having said that, I have to add that these books have a very limited appeal to most orchidists, who find floras and species compilations not that meaningful to their hobbies. As for how much you can ask for them, I have no idea but if they have a price on the jacket that at least can give you a base line. Prices can be wildly subjective a first edition copy of judywhite (yes it is written that way) Taylor's guide to Orchid was put on sale on ebay for more that 3,000 dollars. I don't know if it was ever sold but the result apparently was that everyone with that book put it for sale. As a result you can find it in some places between 3 and 6 dollars.

Thank you, eBay it will be later today, under user alexol.

Perhaps the difference is that the judywhite book is still available new?

    Thanks for the response.

I don't know. I collect books and I can tell you the value of out of print books can be wildly subjective.

I would say bet.400-500 dollars plus shipping.
