Psychopsis Kalihi 'Yellow'

    I bought this from Odom's Orchids at an orchid show/sale last May in Melbourne, FL
    Talk about an everyready bunny.
    Yes it is that yellow. I'm not too keen on what happened to the lip this bloom but no problem, there's another bud directly behind this one. This particular flower has been open for a week.
    I grow this in S/H, high light.

    If this genus wasn't so stinkin' large, I'd grow them. Why? Because of flowers like that. Thanks for posting it, MJ.

    It is very wonderful. I've never thought of them as large plants, just long spikes.

    Clark I grow this and the psychopsis's directly under my Big Light On A Track. If they prefer lower light, they've not indicated that to me.

    I killed mine but not before it made about a thousand flowers in a row just like that one. I suspect mine bloomed itself to death, coupled with not enough watering. :(

    That's where S/H rules. I have a couple others that I'll put in s/h, they are in moss now and I know they will do better in s/h.
