This is a cute little species that seems pretty easy to grow at room temperature (68–72 °F). The cultivar is 'Forest's Alfonso' AOS/CHM with 82 points. It was named for me by a friend I made in Tennessee named Randy Bayer! I traded him some nice Masdevallia species for a piece and this is the first bloom!!

I picked up a really nice, dark one of these from Ecuagenera that's about to bloom. I have my fingers crossed it blooms as dark for me as when I saw it at the nursery and if it does I would like to name it 'Randy Bayer' as thank you! It's kind of fun to be able to commemorate friendships in the names of plant cultivars.

Growing orchids at home can be a rewarding hobby, but it requires some knowledge and care. Although I search for many requirements, I still cannot grow it and I don't know why

Do you mean that you can't grow Porroglossum porphyreum? How have you been growing it?
