This is an import from Madagascar that came as an unidentified species. The plant is about 14" tall and has very long lasting flowers.

Of course Marni's photos are always very nice, but this plant is even more impressive in person. If I recall, the flowers are more yellow in colour in natural light.

Very nice, Marni. Your Polystachya photos have definitely piqued my interest in the genus.

There are some really great ones and also some really disappointing ones. And lots are misidentified. My first and still one of my favorites was P campyloglossa in 1984. I can't help myself, I buy them all and then see what to keep. This one came as an unidentified Polystachya species from Malala about 10 years ago.
