This species is found along Western/Southwestern Africa as a warm to hot grower. IOSPE states that this species blooms in the fall with highly fragrant flowers, but currently it is Summer here in the USA and the flowers do not seem to have any fragrance day or night. The flowers are undoubtedly the biggest I have seen on any Polystachya species.

It is almost hooded, and nice combination of colors. Like a little preacher in the pulpit. I've never seen this species.
