Polka dot baby shower cake

    12" diameter, 4" tall, Funfetti cake. Polka dots are color flow which is a powder you mix with powdered sugar and water. Left stiff you outline whatever you want to copy then add more water to the color flow and it flows into the outline. After it dries it is hard like candy and can be used to decorate a cake. These were just done with the more liquid color flow and piped onto waxed paper to dry. The baby is from Wal-Mart, wrapped in a fondant blanket. The cake is covered with fondant, also. Now I have to go capture all the powdered sugar which has escaped and fled to every nook and cranny in my kitchen!

    Oh Ann, that is adorable!! When is the shower?
    The mother it be is going to love it. You do really good work, thanks for sharing with us.

    Thanks, everyone. The shower is today and the baby's room, a girl, is being done in those polka dots. The cake was a surprise and the shower gift (plus other things she has been buying for months) from my middle grandson's girlfriend, Traci. She's a sweetheart and I can hardly wait for Forrest to marry her! She's starting to look at my wedding cake books.:clap:

    Your cakes are too pretty to eat, Ann. I'd have a hard time cutting into one with a knife.

    Your grandson's GF must be cool; all Tracis-with-an-i that I know (one, my best girlfriend) are super cool!

    Thanks, Alexis. If I'm present I always have to cut them and I do it without apologizing to the cake! It's....a....CAKE! Traci is beyond wonderful!
