I spy Karen, Pook and Allison with my little eye...
Now don't be getting in Karen's way, Candace. She's doing some power shopping for me. I haven't talked on the phone this much in eons.
So I hear. I was so temped to get a beccari. But, considering how well yours adjusted, I held off. I still want one, though. <pout> I actually came home with money in my pocket and didn't have to whip out the checkbook or c.c. once because Karen lent me your c.c. #. So, thanks bunches!
No cc. She's banking my orchid habit, I think, 'til she can get everything totaled up. This might hurt.
Oh, o.k. that's what she meant by, "I'll add it to Dale's tab, he won't even notice because he's loaded." I assumed it was a c.c. #, so my mistake.
Oh, please. I couldn't buy birdseed for a cuckoo clock. I've been saving for years.
You gonna get another beccari?
Get one for me, Dale won't mind...
I was really contemplating getting one MJ. But, Howard Gunn and Karen were shopping with me and I decided I'd rather pay more for an established division some day. Plus, where the hell would I put it anyway. I'm waiting for me electrician friend so g.h. #2 is still non-operational. The good news is we have a temporary, very expensive chicken coop if we need it.
Did anyone see or touch any Angs while there?
LOTS of angs. I touched a few, I admit it.
I envy you....
Did you get their names? I want to go next year but only if they have a surfeit of Angs.
You should have gone this year, then. There were more angs. than I've ever seen (for sale) before.
OK, I'm stupid. What the hell is a POE?
Pacific Orchid Exposition. It's the west coast's answer to Redland.
Expecting lists of purchases...
Well ... er ... just a few ...
Angraecum veitchii - mature plant in spike
Angraecum florulentum x eburnum - large plant in spike
Aerangis Mire (platyphylla x verdickii) - huge plant in spike
Aerangis Elro (platyphylla x modesta) - huge plant w/ 3 spikes
Angraecum magdalenae - large plant w/ 3 or 4 basal growths
Oeniella polystachys - large plants w/ multiple 8" spikes
Those are the angs I came home with. I touched a gazillion others. Cal Orchid had a nice group of angs & a number of other vendors had some good plants as well.
This year's crowd was definitely off. We were there pretty much all day Friday & I've never seen such a light crowd. Doesn't bode well for the industry, I'm afraid.
I was hoping yesterday was better and of course today. I agree the crowd was the lightest I've ever seen on a Friday. I'm sure the rain kept some away, but I hope the vendors come out ahead:<
We were ther yesterday and commented on how light the attendance was. Made it much easier to shop.
