I received both of these plants as Pleurothallis viduata. They are obviously different. Anyone have a thought on IDs?

I've been calling the first one pleuro viduata for years. It also matches the description and drawing in Icones Pleurothallidinarum VI. I do not recognize the second flower.

I think the second one has been sold as the yellow form of this species by O.D.V. but I had never compared the flower with the normal one when mine bloomed. Looking at both of your pictures, they do look like different species to me too. Did I send you the yellow one, Dale?

The clone I have from Selby as viduata is the first one. The second one doesn't look like it is in the ballpark.

Sorry, Dale. I didn't mean to send you a plant with questionable ID.

Dale, is it as free flowering as P. viduata and other species in that group? How big is the plant and flower (not asking for a plant shot, you understand, just approx. measurements)?

Marni, the plant is very similar to P. viduata in appearance, though it's a bit smaller. Inflorescences arise similarly. Seems to be a very eager grower so it may become as large as P. viduata. I've only had the plant since last fall. This is the first bloom.

    :D

Tom, it's absolutely no problem. I have one more species than I thought I did. I certainly don't have a problem with that.
