It has been doing nicely for you! Congrats!

If you can find me a Pthl. blancoi, I will mortgage my house again for that.;)

Thanks Tom! Did you have Plths. blancoi before? I just did a search and didn't find much info on it. Looks like a nice plant, though.

I wish(not really, since you used past tense). I have been looking for it but no luv. I saw it in Costa Rica few years ago. The color and texture of the flower are quite remarkable.

It's too bad there isn't a Central American equivalent to Ecuagenera or ODV(that I know of). I'm sure there are many nice species there (like Plths. blancoi) that we don't have access to because they aren't propagated often in their home range.

Worse yet, you hardly could import anything from CR now due to the laws. They have so many nice Lepanthes also.

I knew you couldn't get anything wild collected, but it's still difficult to get seed grown species? I know with CR's native animals they have to be raised to F2 or 3 in CR before they can be exported.

I don't think they do a whole lot of prop down there. University of CR/Lancaster gardens-CR does some but not much as far I know. There are lots of restrictions for export, but it is probably good for eco protection down there.
