Hey so i just got a Pleurothallis ankyloglossa (my first Pleurothallis) that had new growth, but as the growth grew the leave came brown in color with green at the tip and the where the leaf ab the petiole meet. im just curious if this is natural or do i have something to worry about.

Can you take a picture of it? Is the leaf still firm? Did you get it in the mail? How long from the time you got it until it started doing this? Is it progressing?

Just got it like 2 weeks ago from my orchid society meeting, and it had a new growth on it then. when it came out it was brown. It is still firm and just starting to open.

That could be normal, but it looks as if there is some white (fungal?) patch towards the tip of the leave. If it is opening I would just wait an see. If that is some thing where I see white, you might try spraying a bit of 3% hydrogen peroxide on that part.

cool thanks. the white bit, i think is just because of the flash on my camera. it wasn't there when i went to look at it.

I have a Pleurothallis forceps-cancri and new growths come in looking just like that. They eventually change color to a normal green.
