I was wondering if anyone has purchased Plths. dodsonii from Orquideas del Valle before. I got one yesterday from a friend, and it is not Plths. dodsonii in the typical sense. The plant I got has glossy, dark green leaves, with no bumps or spots on them. Leaf shape, size and growth habit are similar to dodsonii, but that's about it. I've never seen it flower. I'll post a plant picture sometime tomorrow.

At POE in February either ODV or Ecuagenera (wish I could remember) had a beautiful example for sale with lots of spots. I was over budget by then and didn't buy it, but now wish I had. Andy's had one too but it was a very poor example with very few spots (seriously, like 4-5 spots per leaf). I know it is highly variable but I don't know about no spots. However, the glossy aspect would eliminate it from being P. dodsonii IMO.

Yes, I have one from them, a mislabeled plant, which I knew when I bought it at show three years ago. It is Pleurothallis determannii, a slower, more compact grower..., I like Pthl. determannii a little bit more.

If you are still looking for Pthl. dodsonii, I should have a cutting available this fall.

Thanks Tom. That looks right! I wasn't necessarily looking for Plths. dodsonii this time, but I've wanted it for a while. Give me a heads up when you make the division, please!

Was the Plths. determannii bought from Andy's? I bought one from them, labeled as spp. dodsonii.

No, I bought the determanii(mislabeled as dodsonii) from ODV at show two or three years ago. The real dodsonii came from Andy P. few years ago
