Phalaenopsis wilsonii

    Just one flower, but I was pleased to have it bloom a year and a half after importing it. This is from China and is one of the cooler growing species. The flower was just a bit over 1".

    I really love this little Phalaenopsis, but here it only blooms at the end of winter!
    I had a lot of success in sowing this species!!

    This type had really long roots. I'm sure they must photosynthesize that way since the leaves are small and sometimes absent. I say a similar species in Bhutan that had roots going between small shrubs that were at least 3ft long.
