A small, cool-growing species, I dry it in the winter and it frequently looses its leaves. Smells like grape kool-aid.

Very nice. Can you give more detail about its culture, seasonally?

Sure. It is year round in a greenhouse with 50F minimum nights (maybe 55F average during the summer) and 80F maximum days (occasionally 85-90 for short periods in summer).

It has had some ups and downs and is making a comeback after a couple of years of too dry winters. From late October to April it gets misted lightly a couple of times per week. From early April into May it gets a bit more frequent misting and an occasional watering and then about mid-May through October it is watered most days. If it isn't dry by the next day, I may just mist.

Wonderful! I love this species. I grow mine along side some of my shadier aerangis. It seems to do very well. And obviously, can't cover up the roots when you mount it because as Marni says, it frequently loses its leaves so the roots need to see the light. :)

Cool growing? Shady? All I can guess is that it must be awfully tolerant!

Mine is on a cork slab, hung up high near a Maxillaria variabilis and an ascocenda, and it grows like mad. I feed and water it along with everything else in the greenhouse, and it has just finished with its third spike this spring.

Granted, I don't have the brightest locale (hillside with lots of tall trees, plus 35% Aluminet).
