A warm growing Phalaenopsis species named after the island where it was found (Flores in Indonesia) where it grows at 150 to 500 meters. I grow thisin the warm viv planted in EpiWeb substrate, medium/low light. It has a faint fragrance that is not entirely pleasant... but I can't smell it anyway (it's Neofinetia season in the viv... ) I love the hairy lip...

Thank you for the close-up, karma. Mine is blooming, but I hadn't looked close enough
to notice the hairy lip. I will now.

Thanks! :) The hairy lip is what really does it for me - but only on orchids... You ought to like this one Jon, at least it smells like a bulbo...

This is a great species! And besides having a fun lip, the sheen on the flower appears like porcelian.

Absolutely! The flowers almost look like made out of wax, or porcelain.
